As you can clearly see from the HUGE list above, there are many Direct Sales Companies.  Believe it or not that is just a small sample size of what is out there on the Internet.  Not all Direct Sales, MLM, Network Marketing Companies are Legitimate but many are.

I, myself prefer Affiliate Marketing over the above mentioned because I can do it all 100% from the internet and without leaving home.  When I am away from home, I can still work my Affiliate Marketing Businesses as long as i have an internet connection and my cell phone.  With Affiliate Marketing, we don't stock, ship or directly sell anything and one of the major sources is Amazon.  (We don't have to use and aren't tied to Amazon or any other sites)

Here is my #1 Recommendation that you can also find along with other Recommendations by clicking on the “Menu” tab at the top left of this site.

Affiliate Marketing isn't MLM, Network Marketing or Direct Sales

Just a quick note, I am not a part of any of the above listed Top Direct Sales Companies but do have many Friends & Family who are and many of them are also a part of the Affiliate Marketing Community that I share above.

Marketing for a direct sales company makes it easier for you because you are not to be stuffed in the trouble of a middle man.

  4. Hi Tony,

I’m not into direct sales today but I have worked with Amway briefly. It is a great way to earn extra cash especially for those who are good at sales and actually have an interest in the types of products these companies offer. Persons in direct sales really need to be socialable, comfortable with approaching strangers, and great at marketing.

  5. What a huge list of direct sales companies. I got some experience from the past, not really the possitive one. Honestly, this type of business wasn’t for me. It’s very hard work where you can succeed, but not everyone can. The scheme of direct sales felt a bit awkward to me. I only wonder how does it work now when everything is just online. Thumbs up for everyone who master direct sales.

  10. One can really dominate in direct sales if they integrate their skills with digital marketing such as email marketing, having a blog. Let’s face it, there’s a constant average number of people one would be meeting face to face to directly sell to but the internet get endless floods of searchers. I wish top direct sales companies would offer a startup capital for individuals as you would find that many people are good with marketing but lack startup funds.

  12. I have tried direct selling when I was in my gap year between high school and college and while I earned some money, I was through my parents 😂 I would sell them everything, from shampoos and personal care to even a backpack to my brother haha.

To be honest, I mostly did it to get a discount on the products I wanted but to earn money It’s very limited. As you say, I prefer affiliate marketing too, because you have the whole world as a “client”. With direct selling, you only have people you know as clients, and some buys to support you and others, prefer other brands.

I guess if someone wants to direct sales, they could do both, create a website, and put it out there what they do to broaden their client portfolio because if not, it’s not many people to sell to.

  15. Holy Moly that list is huge, I have never heard of direct selling in this perspective. I have actually had a neighbour once who used to sell Tupperware items. Now that I think about it  I think that she was a direct seller too. Now I wonder if direct selling is possible through the internet. But that ruins the purpose of the word “direct” I guess. Very Informative article, thanks.

  19. Ah, direct selling!

What a great topic. I really think it is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to start in the world of sales and why not in the world of entrepreneurs.

Selling comes first for everyone in this world. We sell all the time!

Personally, my first direct sales company was Amway, and these companies really have something very important and that is the training they give you, since they have to train you as a salesperson.

They also teach you a lot, a lot, to build your business (it can be for the same company, or for your future), that is, it helps you to organize yourself, to set goals, to follow up, to grow personally.

To relate well with people. And this is key, relating to people, and while helping them, you can achieve all your goals.

Personally, after several years I continue with Amway and continue to receive the great training that he has.

  20. Avon, both hosted successful parties to gain sales along with new recruits. It started getting harder to book parties, and now no longer work with these companies but will attend the parties. The other companies you have listed, have had no relations with. I will share this article with my followers.

Top direct sales companies are very nice but if you don’t have enough knowledge about what they are doing, you can’t make success.

  22. Awesome Tony,

I know doing direct sales is not the way many like to do including myself. I’ve been there, done that and discovered just not enjoying holding a party in my home and try to convince people to buy products. Additionally, being an introvert, Affiliate Marketing works best for my case. I feel the relief in reading your article when I got to the part that says, we don’t stock people, ship or direct sell anything. Affiliate Marketing is the sure deal. Thank you very much for sharing. What training do you recommend for affiliate marketing certification?

    Cheers!

  24. wow, thank you for all the information on direct sales. This another option I was not aware while doing affiliate marketing. I believe that finding a source that it is close you our niche can be helpful if we are able to join any of the top sales direct companies. For example, if we write articles on a blog on dogs, joining SurePets which offer animal products can be a side job for us.

The contact needed to customers due to the pandemic today can be a disadvantage for direct sales. Doing virtual sales might be an option. Thank you for all the information and links provided. It is worth learning more from the sources provided through the links.

  26. As someone with extensive direct sales experience, you’ve done an exceptional job of putting together a beneficial article for those considering the direct sales, multi-level, network marketing arenas. Obviously, as I think most are aware at this point, being extremely selective and doing your research prior to selecting a company to tie yourself to is extremely important. After all, your reputation is at stake.

I know a number of companies that really use this whole direct sales thing and it works perfectly for them and one that I don’t see on your list is the orifkame company that deals in beauty products and all of that and I honestly think that they did a good job on what they really do produce which is good stuff. All the same, nice post

  29. Its interesting to know that there are 65 million direct sellers in the world and what makes that so impressive is the factor that the industry is responsible for generating over $30 billion annually. WOW!  I don`t know much about this industry however it is one which has left me wondering what it`s all about. What makes it all so simple is the fact that it`s one person selling to another that`s it!

The one that I know off hand is Herbalife however it was great to see other ones such as Avon, Amway and the pampered chef. These are all direct sales companies which I have seen over the years or have known someone who operates one of these businesses.

Direct sales is a great way to make a extra income and I do know people who make 6 figures a year in earnings from such businesses. Social media has made this industry boom by how easy it is to connect with others on such platforms. This is a simple business that can be operated form your home and even from the kitchen table.

The typical commission of 25 – 40% is not to bad either however not many of us would get rich from that alone. The real secret is the part of MLM (multi level marketing) build a team and you win big for sure.

It was great to see such great content which was really fun to watch and read over. Of course the best bit was your honesty with what you prefer and that is the opportunity of affiliate marketing. A nice link through to the wealthy affiliate platform. What i liked was that it really gives the reader a chance to review all options available as to what may work best. Choice is very empowering.

This was a real good read and it was very clear to understand and the next steps to take.

    Thanks for sharing.

  32. Hi Tony,

Thanks for the very informative article. The long list of direct sales companies is an excellent resource for finding a company that fits a person’s abilities and interests, should they go this route. A very relevant article during these times, when many are still cautious about going out shopping.

I will say, I tried selling Mary Kay when I was younger, and living in a small community, it was difficult to gain a customer base other than close friends and family. Do you have any advice for how to branch out from that bubble?

    Thanks again!

  34. Awesome! I just knew few Direct Sales and I am doing it before. That’s true that you need to buy starter kit for you to generate income from it. It’s hard also coz all the time you need to bring items for you to make sales like a walking shop.

I agree that affiliate marketing is best way to have business online. Whenever you go you can do it and no need to carry some stuffs to sale. Thank you for your effort sharing this post!

  35. Wow, this is a very extensive list of direct sales companies and there are many on the list that I have never even heard of.

The part of direct selling that I am not a fan of, is that you continuously have to ask people to host a party for you. Once you have run through your list of family and friends, it becomes difficult and often awkward to keep on having to find hostesses and events to sell your products.

  36. Hi Tony,

I will never know there are so many direct sales companies out there if l have not stumbled on your post. I know a few of them but mostly never heard of because my country is very stringent on direct sales. Nevertheless, l never a fan of direct sales as l am more introvert. I am more inclined to affiliate marketing as l don’t have to meet customers or to carry any stock.

The things l need is a laptop or a smartphone and internet access, then l can already start my online business. One suggests, can we combine direct sales with affiliate marketing? Instead of seeing customers, l listed the product on my woocommerce site?

    Keep up the excellent work.

  37. I have been in direct selling ( part time ) a few years back  and where I did the business, people would start paying after you have given them the item and they pay in increments, like 3 -4 gives.

Sometimes, the client cannot pay on due dates and if you’re unlucky you get people who completely forget to pay or ignore you after paying partially.

Over all, you earn if you’re consistent and you have good paying customers.

They usually sponsor parties and giveaways to attract more customers. You need to be people oriented and know how to sales talk.

I was involved with Avon, Tupperware and Triumph ( not in your list).

  41. Thank you so much for sharing with us an interesting and informative article. The principal content of this article is about top direct sales companies. It is really pretty that you have demonstrated this topic so well in your article. I have learned a lot by reading your article and gained a lot of cognition about DSA. Of the points mentioned in your article, I like direct sales companies. The best known giant company to sell any product directly is Amazon from where I am also selling the product myself. All these companies are able to profit double by selling their products directly. My favorite is the Tupperware which is selling kitchen utensils directly.

  44. You offer a vast list of direct selling opportunities that I believe would appeal to many different interests.  Great suggestions!  There are several you mentioned that I’ve never heard of such as The Happy Gardener and MD Plus.  From pets, to gardening, to jewelry, toys and clothes … you name it there is a direct selling opportunity for someone out there in a niche they are passionate about.  Well written post to provide your audience opportunities they can research further!

I agree with you that my number one choice is also affiliate marketing hands down.  From my personal experience, affiliate marketing has been a game changer for me.  I’m still a beginner, only 4 months to be exact, but I’m starting to see results.  I love the aspect of being able to work wherever I want whenver I want and the sky is limit with the revenue that can be earned.  Most importantly, being able to add value and help people along the way is one of the best parts!

  45. Woah! I never thought there exists a long list of direct selling companies. Never thought that there was an actual website/association to verify their legitimacy. I thought direct selling is a thing in the past (Tupperware was a staple in the household when I was a kid), but your post gives me the idea that direct selling is still alive and kicking. I’ve been acquainted with Mary Kay during my professional life, and I really thought it was a local brand. Currently I’m researching about doTERRA, and I just learned that they are made available via direct selling. Kinda explains why it’s quite expensive like Young Living. Avon is the only brand I know in direct selling who rises  above the competition–items are affordable. Your post is insightful, thank you. Cheers, A

  51. There is a lot to digest from this article because it is a combination of everything marketing. Just like every other marketing or business concepts, Direct Sales has its advantage and disadvantages. I think some people with a sanguine temperament can do better in direct sales than others. Because it requires serious social engagements and effective communication skills to convince your audience or potential customers about the product you’re offering through presentations or whatever mode.

Again, considering the hassle of shipment, space, handling costs, it’s just not very convenient for many people. But I discovered that women being emotional shoppers, just involve themselves into direct sales regardless of their marketing skills or interests. All I can do is to refer a friend or colleague based on my knowledge about a particular product. For instance, I have used Trivita products years back and I liked their products, but to sell it no.

Mary Kay and Avon Products, being brand names, still have their challenges for direct sellers. I have seen some families that always display them during garage sales, and they will just look like leftover products and being devalued due to mishandling.

As you stated that you’re not involved with any direct sale marketing, rather prefer affiliate marketing over any other marketing, that is how I feel too. Unless, a situation where I decide to rent a shop and call it a cosmetic shop or vitamin and beverage shop and know that it is full retail shop business, I won’t go the trouble of begging people, making phone calls and all that to get one or two people in a week to come over to my house or I do hawking by taking the products to their house to sell. Thanks for the huge list of these shops. It’s going to serve as my reference …

    Favorme.
