To me Affiliate Marketing is a great way to earn an income from home while sharing what we are passionate about.
There are many Affiliate Marketing programs available, some of the biggest and most known are Amazon.com, e-bay, commission junction – now called Affiliate by Convesant, Share a Sale, LinkShare. Those are just a few of the biggest and most popular ones available for free to anyone in the world to market for big name companies.
Speaking of Big name companies, just about any business and/or company that you can think of that provides products and or services has an Affiliate link and most are at the bottom page of their website. Simply click on that link and 9 times out of 10 it will redirect you to the Affiliate site that they utilize to bring in more customers.

I love affiliate marketing, it’s by far the best form of business to get into as we don’t have to keep track of stocks and inventories, but rather just share what we usually like wherever we like be it a blog or social media or both. People will generally like our stories and experiences and they’ll buy it if it interests them which gives us a commission, but I think the reason many have a bad view on affiliate marketing because they don’t understand how it works, wouldn’t you agree?
This is a very useful information that you have provided for your readers here. It is always a good idea for us to research, get knowledge as to be sure of what we are talking about. Many people are not aware of the difference between a referrer and affiliate. Today, many wants to do Affiliate Marketing with little or no knowledge of the concept. But thanks to Wikipedia, that expands our understanding of words and their meanings and even their origins and usage.
Wikipedia’s definition of affiliate marketing, matches with what many of us are doing as the third-tiers in the chain of distribution. And the purpose for being an affiliate is to make morning. I am not in favour of ever using Wikipedia as I do not believe in a lot of information that they give out and it is a shame they can get away with it. I like most of the detail apart from the fact that it is stating that we promote products disingenuously unlike a referee. However, I believe that the majority of affiliate marketeers only promote the products that they believe in otherwise they would have a very short lived career.

The internet is a huge place and with the world going through a pandemic shopping online has become the number one way that a lot of people shop now. I think affiliate marketing is a great way to share great products and services with people and make some money for all the research and time spent trying to do just that. It doesn’t cost the consumer any more to buy whatever it is and they will be more informed from the information provided by the affiliate marketer. I see it as a win-win!

This is a very good question and I think this should be asked by the newbies coming into the affiliate marketing world, it’ll help them know more about it and also help them define what they are going into because a lot of people don’t really realize the requirements for the business they choose.
It’s sad that most affiliates are not aware of site cookies. In most cases you find that referrals end up purchasing a service or a product but outside the given site cookie scope; the company ends up making money from the sale but the affiliate gains nil commission. Affiliate marketing is really a way to make passive income with but with sufficient, appropriate guidelines in place.

Very good article on affiliate marketing. For myself I prefer using affiliate marketing when selling physical products.This way I do not have to deal with shipping or customer service issues. IMO when deciding what type of products to promote be sure you are passionate about them and better yet, have purchased and used them yourself. Also make sure the product is actually selling online.

I had to dig places to find out the meaning of affiliate marketing 2 years back. There are several things I learnt from your article here in context to affiliate marketing.
In my simple term, an affiliate marketer sells the product through the affiliate link provided by the corporation you sell the product for and increase their sells. They write posts and reviews of the product they have interest on and promote the product. If someone buys from their site the company makes money and you get a commission.
No manufacturing, product packing, dealing with returns and complaints from customers. Basically you help the buyers to know the pros and cons of the products to make them form an informed decision before they buy.
Hi! I think a lot of people who don’t blog or understand how bloggers make money don’t have any idea what affiliate marketing or affiliate links are. That said as some people still don’t understand, but the prevalence of affiliate link disclosures on websites nowadays has some people recognize the term. So definitely asking what it is is the first step to earning money online. Another couple of platforms that are well known are Partnerize and Impact, both of which I use as well. Sometimes before I didn’t resonate with the term “Affiliate marketing”. It didn’t sound right to me. It sounded as if I had to sell something, and I don’t like to sell. Now I love affiliate marketing and the way it works. My lovely job thought me that presenting, well good presenting, friendliness, and being outgoing and willing to help people, is what “selling” actually means. As a port lecturer onboard the cruise ships, or an actual title is a shopping expert, my job is to present, recommend, and help people find the best deals in the Caribbean. I learned that a little salesperson in me is wanting to celebrate whenever my presentation causes someone to cry of happiness for finding such a good deal!
Therefore I see affiliate marketing that way now. It’s the way to help people find their financial freedom while helping others to get good deals and products, depends on which niche you choose.
The whole concept of affiliate marketing is very different to network marketing and other forms of marketing because I was in the marketing department of my company before the lockdown but since I have started this affiliate marketing, I am learning more better than I have in a long while. I am revisiting what is affiliate marketing with myself aiming to be an Affiliate Marketer at Wealthy Affiliates. Yes, it is a great way to earn money while sharing what you love and recommending products as per your liking.
Here in your post I learn a new thing again-the difference between affiliate marketing and referral marketing. I believe what I intend to do is a combination of both. Monetary considerations and definitely there but one can do that with conviction only when you believe the product – thereby referral marketing comes in.

Affiliate marketing to me offers a way to sell what you physically don’t have. It however requires a lot of hard work: creating content, doing SEO, doing promotions among other things. You really need to have a lot of patience as it takes time, well, for most of us. I hope one day I can give a testimony of how it worked out for me.

I could offer maybe a somewhat contrary view on what affiliate marketing is to me so far. Affiliate marketing is something I have been trying to do and build for some months now. This effort is consuming every scrap of spare time I have and starting to seriously upset my family as I have effectively disappeared as I spend every spare moment I can find creating content for my site or managing my site in the hope that this will become profitable sometime in the future. I have to be honest and say this is a hard thing to do or at least to do seriously when you also hold down a regular job. It is my most sincere hope that affiliate marketing will work for me and turn a reasonable profit that I will still have a marriage and family when it does. I would be interested to know whether anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

Great post, Affiliate marketing is a cool way one can make good money if the person really put in the best, though there are al lots of affiliate marketing scam everywhere but when you get the right one like wealthy affiliate and work really hard on them, they will make you cool and real money, Affiliate marketing is nice only when you find legit and profitable ones..Thanks for this detailed information about Affiliate marketing, i will share it so most people can get the real concept about Affiliate marketing.

I think if more people understood the concept behind affiliate marketing it could become much more profitable for everyone involved. When a person buys something directly from the merchant, sometimes, they actually pay more for the product, opposed to going to a promoter of that product.
I have seen Amazon be cheaper on their website opposed to the manufacturers price. My guess is Amazon has gotten a better price to market the product.
Have you seen that yet in your line of business?
