All this came to a stop when, at the age of 14, Gary's Father actually dragged him into the household service. In the blink of an eye he went from making countless dollars in a weekend to making $2 an hour bagging ice in the basement of Shoppers Discount Liquors, which his Father had actually taken complete ownership of by that point.

Gary Vaynerchuk was just recently on the Breakfast Club once again and on his January 13th, 2017 “DailyVee” he stated his Net Worth from VaynerMedia alone is presently 200 million dollars.

Exactly what does this all amount to? Since 2017, his net worth is approximated to be $369 million. As lots of understand, NFL groups deserve a bit more than $369 million. However purchasing an NFL group is more complex than just composing a check.

Purchasing an NFL Team
As soon as upon a time, fledgling NFL owners might buy a group for $100 (like the Halas household made with the Chicago Bears back in 1920). Quick forward 80 years, and you might drop simply under $200 million for an NFL group, like the Seattle Seahawks' owner Paul Allen carried out in 1997.

Today? Well, you require considerably more millions– most of the times, a minimum of a billion– in order to end up being a bulk owner. Simply 2 years later on, Bob McNair paid out $600 million for the Houston Texans franchise. With the exception of the Dallas Cowboys (valued at $4 billion) and the Green Bay Packers (openly owned), you ‘d require, usually, of about $1.2 billion simply to begin the discussion.

Having the cash is something, however acquiring a group is a bit more complicated. The Jets are apparently worth $1.23 billion. Naturally, Vaynerchuk would not need to pay that at the same time. When Jimmy Haslam bought the Cleveland Browns in 2011, the group was valued at $977 million, and Haslam paid $700 million in advance.

The fascinating thing with this particular case is that Haslam's business, Pilot Flying J truck stop, was $4 billion in financial obligation since 2014. As it ends up, that $700 million he utilized as the deposit came not from Haslam's individual accounts however from Pilot Flying J. Therefore, Haslam's purchase of the Cleveland Browns is partly accountable for Pilot Flying J's financial obligation.

If Vaynerchuk had an interest in acquiring the Jets in this manner, he ‘d have to take a substantial quantity of loan from his business– running the risk of huge financial obligations and possible layoffs– to install the required money. Provided his position on not taking loans and his choice of generating income, not raising it, skeptical he would go this path.

Beyond the numbers video game, there are other challenges to owning an NFL group. The vetting procedure for prospective owners is rather substantial, which's not consisting of the last obstacle to signing the check. In order for the purchase to go through, the present owners vote. If 24 of them state yes, Gary Vaynerchuk would be the happy owner of the New York Jets.

Can Gary Vee own the Jets?

Brief response: not right now. With an individual net worth of $369 million, he's about $2/3 billion away. Could he own the Jets in the future? Sure. Initially, he'll have to continue growing his portfolio. Much of the owners didn't earn money doing something; they have financial investments throughout the board and corporations with a number of entities, making them millions.

Vaynerchuk understands this. He stopped producing videos for Wine Library TELEVISION since he understood that program wasn't generating sufficient loan to enable him to one day purchase the Jets. He now invests the majority of his time running his social networks firm and investing in big-potential start-ups at the ground-level.

The important things that makes Vaynerchuk various from present NFL owners is how he made his loan. He's not from a football household like the Rooney's in Pittsburgh or the Halas' in Chicago. He didn't begin an innovation business like Steve Bisciotti carried out in Baltimore. And he didn't defy chances and turn a brick-and-mortar shop into Home Depot like Arthur Blank did down in Atlanta.

He's a web-based business owner. With the exception of his $1 million book offer, he continues to grow his portfolio with web- and technology-based business. Vaynerchuk has actually shown to be exceptionally smart when it concerns e-commerce, constructing a big-time brand name and investing carefully. Though he cannot purchase the Jets now, he's placing himself to purchase them quickly.

  1. This is quite a success story, especially considering his humble and also difficult start in life. It sounds like this guy had business running in his blood given the way he was into making deals at such a young age. With his skills and determination I don’t think it will be long before he buys The Jets. People who are as successful as him have a way of eventually getting what they want.

  5. Gary Vaynerchuk is seriously  a serial business man. I like the fact that he started his entrepreneurial journey for childhood to teenage hood until he becomes an adult . I usually encourage parents to allow and support their kids to start business as soon as possible  because it gives them a chance to fail and rise without risking  much. I believe business exposure at childhood contributed massively to the business man he became.

  7. What a very in-depth look at Gary Vee! I used to watch his stuff on YouTube when I was trying to make my YouTube vlog work. I’m subscribed to several of his social media platforms and have quoted him a few times in my projects, but I cannot keep up with all of the successful people.

Gary is the real deal and really has a strong work ethic as is shown in this article.

I think the biggest thing is that he really loves his work so that it isn’t like work to him.

I believe that is key for anyone to succeed at doing something, they have to like it so much it’s fun. And, when its fun its not work. Then, they will put in many, many hours unlike the average person who would only do what is required in their job.

He must have a really clear timeline in his head working to be able to juggle. I did not truly get it his fixation with planes but I figure he has a few foundation in supporting them? I can see in case that was the case why that would be his objective. Do you think typically his genuine benchmark of victory?

  10. Wow, interesting. It’s always interesting to read biographies of people who made it big, if only to realize that they all started like the rest of us. Usually it’s either a stroke of luck, or – more and more – an entrepreneurial mind that elevates one to a higher level of income. What’s important to note is that pretty much all the people like Gary Vaynerchuk put in a lot of hard work into their businesses, even (or especially) when they were still small.

I think there is inspiration to be taken from someone like Gary Vaynerchuk. Because really, how different is he from all of us? Not much. And all the things he did – I can see myself doing. It just takes desire and perseverance.

Indeed, he has done it all and deserves everything gotten.

Well, I knew that he is coming from Belarus, but that was about it.

This is an awesome article with great info, also very motivational.

Thanks a lot, Tony for putting all this interesting info together.

    Have a good one

  37. Thank you for another motivational article! I love reading about people like Gary Vaynerchuk who almost seem to build their success from nothing like it’s magic. The important thing to remember though is it’s not something mystical, but rather understanding that in having a successful business you have to add value to your customers. Gary does this in wide variety of ways, sharing his knowledge to people in all different kinds of niches, not just the wine business like he originally started in.

  38. The post is really interesting, the way you develop the topic, step by step about this guy’s fortune, and his dream of buying the equipment of his dreams, however having a repeated image within the same post seems like a point against, having several videos that demonstrate the content you are writing can be very illustrative for visitors to your post, but you run the risk of seeing the video and stop reading your post, maybe using more images is a good idea, there is an error in your post, there is a paragraph that is repeated just before and after the video “6 mins for the next …..”
greetings and I hope my observations will serve you

Great to have a good understanding of the story of Gary and believe will inspire the young people, and I’m surprised that the site Gary built in college-wine-library is still operating, there are many different areas he is taking part in, the most important thing I believe is the logic behind all of his movements

  40. Hello Tony, I have even seen Gary a couple of times and I am happy to see his success story. . His success story from grass to grace is something that one should always look unto for inspiration and for a drive. Maybe he will buy this sport business but one thing for sure is that he has made it over the years and I am very sure that he will keep making sure that he prospers.

  41. Wow, I must really say that Gary has done a lot good for himself and I’m very envious of him right now. I like when people are able to find their way at a very young age with agility and strength, when they work hard to achieve that which they have set their minds to, I’ve learned from the story of Gary and I’ll surely incorporate them.

  43. Thank you for this post! Gary Vee is one of my ‘virtual’ mentors and despite what many say – that he has a too much ‘sentimental’ approach to business world – I think he his extremely pragmatic, but his own way! He made my day when someone asked him to share his opinions about how to deal with competition, and he answered “I know nothing about my competitors”. Genius.

  44. What an inspiring article. It shows what is capable if you turn your mind to it. There are always new opportunities emerging. The hardest part is often finding ways to motivate your self over the long term to be able to maintain the hard work that is needed to be successful with an online business.

  46. Gary certainly has the entrepreneurial spirit. He started at an early age being an entrepreneur and learned more the older he got. One thing I noticed about his success is, that while he may do a lot of things off the cuff, he educated himself and his customers about whatever business he was involved in.

He has a flame in his gut to succeed. He overcomes obstacle whenever he encounters one. He wants to know all about something he  is interested in. He is willing to talk to experts and others to have more knowledge and make good decisions about his business. Another thing I noticed, he is willing to share his knowledge about marketing with others. This not only helps him but others as well.

He is very emphatic about having that desire to succeed, whatever your age. He insists that someone who is older may actually be the best entrepreneur because of their experience. Someone who is younger, while understanding the technology, may not have the drive that an older person with experience has.

We can all learn to be successful. We have to understand that there are risks involved being an entrepreneur but with training we can be as successful as the next person. We have to apply the knowledge we have either through training or from experience. This has been a tremendous post with great inspiration to succeed.

  47. Hi, Tony.
Thanks for sharing your introduction to the business legend Gary Vaynerchuk and his wish to purchase Jet aircraft. What an interesting story of a simple boy who used to play with baseball cards turned to a business magnet and becoming a legend in his field. That is the power of the internet. He used all the resources available on the internet to expand his business. Gary is a real motivation to the entrepreneurs.
    Warm Regards,

I hadn’t heard of Gary Vaynerchuk prior to reading this but will look out for more about him. Tony, how has Gary inspired you in your career, is there anything you’ve done on account of his story, that has really helped you with your business?

  50. Very motivational to read how a 14-year-old boy started out making some extra bucks from whatever job he could take to being a huge successful online business owner. He went from 10 to 100 in a blink of an eye which is something that’s truly admirable in a person. Whatever you set your mind to – you can achieve. If Gary could come this far then so can everyone else. It just takes determination and passion for what you’re doing, and of course, patience.

(Somehow, I am thinking of my big fat Greek Wedding) I am surprised that I have never heard of him before but I will definitely check his book out. My next book will be Crushing It 🙂

  56. Reading through Gary Vaynerchuk biography, I have understand  the fact that to be successful in the future, you need to build yourself right from young so that by the time you’re of older age, you’ll have all the knowledge needed to face bigger success.

Ain’t Gary just out of this world! I never new that his business instincts go a long way back to his childhood. I guess we can say he is always lucky . Unlike many other motivational speakers, he is so down to earth in his approaches.

This guy definitely someone who has actually understood the concept of making money right from being a kid and this is really great to see out here. To be honest, I appreciate the idea of getting the very best out of life like he has and truly.

It is really laudable that you have illustrated this topic so well in your article. I have learned a lot by reading your article and gained a lot of cognition about Gary Vaynerchuk. Of the points mentioned in your article, I like Gary Vaynerchuk’s blog site. Even though I first heard Gary’s name, the way you presented the story of his life is really amazing.

I was really inspired by this life story. So I want to share this article with you on my Facebook group so that my friends and others can read this article and get inspired and learn about it.

  64. I didn’t realise that Gary went to America via an exchange program, you learn something new every day! His early day beginnings sound similar to my own haha I used to take the blossom from the trees and turn it into perfume for the ladies on our street haha I even purchased in bulk the yellow Lance Armstrong wrist bands for about 5p each and sold them for £1 (It was great while it lasted, but that ended quickly though with what happened). I’ve never actually read any of his books, but after your brief review of them, I’m going to take a look, thank you 🙂 At Gary’s current rate, it won’t be long until he goes from being worth $369 million to $3 billion, allowing him to purchase the Jets 🙂 Gary just proves that web-based business owners can make it in today’s world.

  65. Great article. I really like Gary, and I’m so glad you talk a lot about him in some of your articles.

That was so powerful when he said on the video : “I’m most dangerous because I don’t need shit. Not emotionally, not financially, not from anybody, ever. I’m in the ultimate zen zone.”

Anyway I’ve been following Gary for a while now and his content keeps me focused and engaged in my side hustle. I really appreciate what he does, constantly motivating myself and many others to be the best version of ourselves. Through his messages, he helps me identify which friends I need to step away from in order for my future to pan out the way I want it to.

Anyways, just thought I’d show some love since he does it everyday!

    Thanks again for sharing

  67. I have seen Gary on Planet of the Apps but I actually knew very little of him. It was interesting to read his bio and part of his works. Details about his childhood were specially interesting. I din’t know he is a Jew and was born in the Soviet Union. His story is similar to that of Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin (a jew also born in the Soviet Union and came to the States as a kid) co-founder of of Alphabet Inc. (Google).

  69. Gary Vaynerchuk is very interesting and surely it is worth paying attention to what he has to say.  The focus he seems to have to get so much done is a great trait and seems to be working for him in the different ventures he takes.  When learning about people who have accomplished a lot in their lifetime, we all see something we like and admire, even the pure grit to work as hard as he does, and the ambition to see what else is out there and how to make it work for him.  Thanks for bringing this mans life to my attention.

Was it his accomplishments that brought him to your attention?  Or was it because he wanted to buy the New York Jets? Or do you have another reason?

  71. I had never heard of Gary till I read your review. I thought it was an amazing achievement and how focussed he is on his goals. Yet he seems to have an “in built” sense of when to diversify and when not to. It’s a bit like that business is not working so dump quickly and he moves onto something else like the reviews of wine he was involved in. I do like his obsession with consumers and the relationship his brand has with them. It seems to go much deeper as you would imagine than the standard business model and I guess that is how the new world operates in terms of the go to social brands. He must have a very clear timeline in his head operating to be able to juggle. I did not really understand his obsession with jets but I guess he has some background in supporting them? I can see if that was the case why that would be his goal. Do you think this is his true benchmark of success? A very interesting story and I have to confess I had never heard of the guy till I stumbled on your site! Thanks for sharing.
